Outlook Express 5
Setting up a new account
You can add your new account to Outlook Express as follows. Adding a new account
will not affect your existing account. If you are doing a new installation
of Outlook Express, the steps will be basically the same to set up your new
email account in the new program.
  - on the menu, click on Tools, and pick Accounts

- if you don't know the address of your ISP's outgoing (SMTP) mail server,
    find it as follows:

      - select your existing mail account from the window, and click Properties

- in the properties window, select the Servers tab

- note the name written in the Outgoing mail(SMTP). This is the
address of your outgoing mail server.

- click on the Add button and select Mail

- enter a "Display Name" and click Next. This is the name that will appear
as the From: address on your emails, so you will probably want to use
either your name or your email address.

- pick I already have an email address..., type in your new email address
in the box, and click Next

- in the Incoming mail box, type mail.ableminds.com

- in the Outgoing mail box, type in the address of your ISP's outgoing
mail server. It should be something like mail.earthlink.com or smtp.mindspring.com,
then click Next. This information should have been provided by your
ISP, or you could have found it using the steps above.

- type in the account login name (this was provided by Ableminds) and password
(if you want it saved) for your new account and click on Next.

- click on the Finish button, and then on the Close button,
    and and you're done.

- Outlook Express will automatically check your new account whenever it checks
    email.

- when you want to send email from your new account, click the New Mail
as usual. In the new message window, there will be a pull-down menu to let
you select the From: field for this e-mail.

- if you already had an existing email account, and you want to switch your
new address to be your default address, click on Tools from the menu,
and select Accounts. In the window, select your new email account and
click on the Set as Default button.
Changing an existing email account to your ISP's outgoing (SMTP) mail server
If you aren't currently using your ISP's outgoing mail server, you can modify
Outlook Express to do so as follows. Changing the outgoing mail server will
not affect your existing account, nor will it change the email address
from which your mail is currently being sent.
  - get the server name for your ISP's outgoing (SMTP) mail server. It should
be something like mail.ISPname.com or smtp.ISPname.com. Your
ISP should have provided you with this information when they set up your account.
